ZILLO is a website for young people living in Wirral, Merseyside.
It is a website for young people to come to get the lowdown on the latest events, arts, culture, news and expert health and wellbeing advice.
At ZILLO we want to promote the very best of Wirral, its young people and culture and through our Young Reporters media and journalism project providing young people with valuable real life experiences of writing and creating content for the web. ZILLO Young Reporters is open to all Wirral Young People aged 11-18.
ZILLO was created by Wirral Borough Council’s Children’s Services in partnership with students and staff from Wirral Metropolitan College. The project began in April 2020 working closely with web development students ZILLO was transformed from a concept into multiple test websites submitted as part of students final exams. The concepts and ideas explored by the students gave life and inspiration to the website your now reading.
Our partnership with Wirral Metropolitan College continues to grow in strength, providing further opportunities for young people from across the college to work closely with us and gain valuable work experience.
Students can find help on a range of a topics from smoking, vaping, drugs, anxiety, food disorders as well as student community groups to discuss key issues with like-minded teens.
