GCSE Results 2023-24

  • Progress 8 nationally is -0.03, Wirral -0.16 and Pensby High School +0.28
  • Progress 8 +0.28: highest non-selective, second highest similar school is +0.03 and we are higher than one grammar
  • Boys’ progress is +0.14, third highest outright progress for boys on Wirral
  • Boys’ attainment is 40.7, so that means on average the grade awarded this summer was a pass; we are the only nonselective school to achieve this
  • Girls’ progress is +0.44 and is the second highest girls’ progress figure on Wirral; higher than 3 out of 4 selective or
    partially selective girl’s schools
  • National Attainment 8 is 45.9, Wirral 44.4 (7 fully or partially selective out of 20 schools) and Pensby High School 43.7
  • Girls’ attainment is 44, again this means that on average every grade awarded is equivalent to a pass
  • In terms of breadth of curriculum and progress, there are only six schools with positive progress in all four curriculum
    baskets, Pensby High School is one of the six and the only non-selective school to do this
  • In terms of disadvantaged students, we have the fourth highest progress figure in the authority
  • Students with SEND made progress of +0.45. That is significantly better than SEND students nationally and locally, and
    all students both locally and nationally
