Science and STEM clubs off to a great start

Both year 7 & 8 science and year 9 STEM clubs have made a great start this term. So far in science club, students have dissected a pig heart and designed and tested paper rafts for transporting glue sticks – all with the very welcome support of some eager year 11 volunteers! Future projects will include building air rockets, creating a planisphere and investigating how penguins keep warm.

In STEM club, year 9 students are working towards gaining their bronze Crest award through a project to design and build the best bath bomb. Students will be able to use this towards their Duke of Edinburgh award and will also be presented with a certificate. Both clubs run on Tuesday lunchtimes, science club with Mr Marris and Mr Thompson is in F2 and F3, STEM club with Mrs Moss is in D5.
