Closure Information

Adverse weather conditions – Enforced School Closure

As a school the decision to close lies with the Headteacher and the school should only ever close when conditions make the safe operation of the school impossible, we will always try to keep the school open and adverse weather will not automatically lead to the closure of the school. Please do not keep students away from school unless you are requested to do so.

If the school has to close due to adverse weather conditions or other factors we will inform parents via the following means:

Closure before the school day starts:

  • All parents will receive a text message which includes appropriate information on the closure times and dates
  • Information will be placed on the home page of the website
  • Messages will be shared with local media and the local authority who will also publish details
  • School answer phone message

Closure during the school day:

  • All students will be held in school until parental contact has been established
  • Information will be placed on the school website
  • Messages will be shared with local media and the local authority who will also publish details
  • School answer phone message
